Objective : To evaluate the safety and curative effect of retropefitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy(RLA).Methods:33 patients with adrenal diseaes have been treated by retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery and the clinical data were reviewed. Results: The procedure was successful in all cases. There were 15 casas of primary aldosteronism (13 casas of aldosterone preducing adenoma ,2 casas of nodular hyperplasia ), 8 casas of adrenal pheochromacytoma , 5 casas of Cushing's syndrome, 3 casas of non-functional adrenal adenoma, 1 adrenal gland cyst and 1 adrenal cortical carcinoma . The mean duration of surgery was 75±29min;the average blood loss was 57±42ml with no need of blood transfusion . The mean postoperative hospital stay was 6±0.8d. 18 cases were followed up from 6 to 12 monthes, the adrenal cortical carcinoma patient recurred, and the others recovered without recurrence. Conclusion: RLA was less traumatic and postoperative discomfort , with quick recovery , and it is feasible .The procedure should be considered as the first choice of therapy for benign adrenal diseases.
