Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of retroperitoneal laparoscopic toadrenal diseases by comparing the differents between retroperitoneal laparosc-opic and open adrenectomy for the treatment of adrenal diseases. Methods:Based on patients’ requirements and surgeon’s experience,70cases of unilateral adrenal disease patients were divided into retroperitoneallaparoscopic group (n=42) and open adrenalectomy group (n=28).The clinicalefficacy in two groups were compared and the differences between them inoperation time, blood loss, postoperative hospitalition time and the incidence ofpostoperative complications were investigated. Results:One retroperitoneal laparoscopic group patient was converted toopen adrenalectomy and others were all successful. In retroperitoneal laparo-scopic group and open adrenalectomy group, the operation time were(65±30)min and(100±40)min, the blood loss were(40±18)mL and(152±45)mL,the postoperative hospitalition time wer(e5.1±1.2)d and(7.4±1.7)d.There weresignificant differences between two groups(P<0.01). There were no majorpostoperative complications. All patients were followed up for6-36months(per22months),their clinical symptoms disappeared and no recurrences developed. Conclusions:To compare with the open adrenalectomy, retroperitoneallaparoscopic operation has the advantages of tiny wound, high effectiveness, lessblooding loss, quick recovery. There is no differences in complication incidence. This method can be considered as the first choice for treating benign adrenaldiseases.
