Objective:To improve the ability to diagnose and cure the disease by assessing the clinical manifestations, laboratory examination and treatment of 32 cases of Systemic Sclerosis(scleroderma,SSc).Methods:32 patients with definite SSc were retrospectively studied, and the clinical data about their ages, courses of the disease, clinical manifestations, immunological features and treatments were reviewed and analyzed.Results:32 Patients were analyzed.Women were affected 7times as that of men.The primarily incipient symptom of SSc was Raynaud's phenomenon.Swollen hands/sclerodactyly,swollen face, raynaud's phenomenon,arthralgia/arthritis,were seen frequently in the disease course.SSc can also affect internal organs such as the heart, lung, kidney and gastrointestinal tract and other systems.28 patients were treated with corticosteroids, while 9 patients with cyclophosphamide. Conclusion:SSc is a multisystem disease that affects the skin and intemal organs(i.e., heart, lung, kidney, gastrointestinal tract and other systems.).The disease is particularly prevalent in the female patients.Prognosis of SSc is largely depending on involvement of internal organs.Early diagnosis and early aggressive treatment can increase the survival rate.
