Study On Efficacy Of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) With The Invigorating Spleen, Eliminating Phlegm And Activating Blood Circulation Therapy, And Its Effect On Pulmonary Function, Quality Of Life

OBJECTIVE:The aim of the study was to assess the effect of The Invigorating spleen,Eliminating phlegm and Activating blood circulation Therapy on COPD by analyzing the symptom,sign,pulmonary function,quality of life.METHOD:60 COPD patients(stageⅠ～Ⅲ)without retention of Phlegm and Heat Syndrome in the Lung were randomly assigned to the treating group or to the control group.The treating group accepted conventional therapy of the western medicine(Controllability oxygen treatment,bronchodilators,antibiotic,expectorants)plus SanZiYangQin decoction and ChenXiaLiuJunZi decoction,while the control group purely accepted conventional therapy of the western medicine.The course was 60 days.The clinical symptoms and sign,pulmonary function,quality of life were observed and compared after 60 days.RESULTS:1.The management of The Invigorating spleen,Eliminating phlegm and Activating blood circulation Therapy could improve the clinical symptoms and sign of COPD patients.The clinical symptoms and sign of both group have significant difference after sixty-day treatment compared with the clinical symptoms and sign before the treatment(p＜0.05或p＜0.01).The clinical symptoms and sign of the treating group was better than the control group with significant difference(p＜0.05或p＜0.01)after the treatment,which showed the management of the treating group is better. 2.The management of The Invigorating spleen,Eliminating phlegm and Activating blood circulation Therapy could not improve pulmonary function(p＞0.05)after the treatment compared with pre-treatment,that showed the managements of either treating group or to the control group could improve pulmonary function(p＜0.05).3.The management of The Invigorating spleen,Eliminating phlegm and Activating blood circulation Therapy could improved the quality of life. F₁S of the control group improve,showing significant difference (p＜0.05),but F₂S,F₃S,F₄S,TMS could not improve(p＞0.05).In the other hand,F₁S,F₃S,F₄S,TMS of the treating group reduce,showing significant difference(p＜0.05),but F₂S could not improve(p＞0.05),this show that both managements of the two groups could reduce F₁S.And F₃S,F₄S,TMS reduce more greatly in the treating group than the control grou,with significant difference(p＜0.05),which shows that the effect of the treating group on reducing F₁S,F₃S,F₄S,TMS is more significant than the control group.CONCLUSIONS:The management of The Invigorating spleen,Eliminating phlegm and Activating blood circulation Therapy can help COPD patients,it can improve the clinical symptoms and sign,improve the quality of life,but could not improve the pulmonary function.
