Objective: To evaluate the survival status and prognosis factors of primary bronchogenic carcinoma in elderly. Methods: 450 cases of lung cancer in elderly were reviewed retrospectively , and analyzed their survival rate and discuss its single factor and multi-factor which influence prognosis and survival rate. Results: 1,3-year overall survival rates were 52.12%,and57%. The 1,3-year survival rates in treated patients group was higher than the untreated group(p<0.05, 52.8%:10.18%;17.26%:0). In different treatment groups, The 1,3-year survival rates of the surgery group was higher than the chemotheray group and best surpportive care(BSC) group (p<0.05),there was no significance difference between other groups. In single factor analysis ,the nation, payment methods, physical condition (PS) score, weight loss, metastasis, pathology, staging and treatment modalities were related to long-term survival rate ,however, the gender, smoking index ,et al have no significance with survival rate. Multivariate analysis showed that pre-treatment PS score, stage and weight loss were independent factors impact on the prognosis of lung cancer in elderly .Conclusion: The 1,3-year survival rates can be promoted in those recevied effeictive treatment(P<0.05). The 1,3-year survival rates of the surgery group was higher than the chemotheray group and best surpportive care group (p < 0.05),there was no significance difference between other groups. The multi-factor analysis revealed that pre-treatment PS score, stage, weight loss is the independent factors on prognosis.
