Reseach on compatible regularity of the TCM in a prescription is one of the researching hotspots. This paper studies the pharmacokinetics and distribution in tissues of Compound Danshen Pills in rabbits, to learn synergism between monarch herb (Salvia Miltiorrhiza, DS) and guide herb (Borneol). This studying thought can offer references of the theory about prescription compatibility, development of the effect-guide original drug and modernization of TCM. The main contents of the paper are as follows:1. Capillary gas chromatography (CGC) method for analysis of Borneol in plasma and tissues is established. The recovery of low, medium and high concentration, relative standard deviations (RSD) of precision and stability experiments are consistent with the requirements of biological sample analysis. As a conclusion, this method can be used to study the pharmacokinetics (PK) and tissue distribution of Borneol.2. The pharmacokinetics influence was investigated of monarch herbal medicine DS to guide herbal medicine Borneol by GC in healthy rabbits. The results showed that after intragastric administration of DS-Borneol, the absorption and elimination of Borneol stepped down. Bornyl acetate was found as the metabolite of Borneol in rabbits plasma by GC-MS.3. Tissue distribution of Borneol was investigated to study the influence of synergism between DS and Borneol in healthy rabbits. The results show that the concentration sequence of Borneol were kidney>heart>liver>brain>lung in Borneol group, kidney>lung>liver>heart>brain in DS-Borneol group. It was discovered that the content of Borneol was obviously increased in different tissues after intragastric administration of DS-Borneol. The result verified the meridian distribution of Borneol in TCM theory.
