We should set standards to achieve safe, efficient, stable and controllable on thequality of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the pharmaceutical industry, which can bemeasured and tested by using the inherent composition and microstructure of Chinesemedicine as a whole.On the basis of the substantial properties of all matters are decide by their maincompositions and microstructures, this paper studies five kinds of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bgeof An Guo Hui Nong herbal medicines with three modem physical technologies of X-rayfluorescence, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared analysis technologyon the major compositions and microstructures. We tried to combining three analytictechniques to build a new method to analyze the main compositions and microstructures ofall herbal medicines which can be made into powder samples. Among the conclusion ofthe study are as follows:The first is to created a test technology platform which can test the maincompositions fleetly and efficiently, and then test main compositions and microstructuresof the five kinds of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bges on the platform, using X-ray fluorescencespectrometry to determine types and contents of the element, using X-ray diffractionanalysis to analyze the microstructure, using Fourier transform infrared spectrometer tomake a qualitative analysis.Secondly, based on the datum and a series of profiles of the above methods, thefeature map of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge is established, and this map can illustrate the maincompositions and microstructure of the herbal medicines. I t explores and establishes themain component and microstructure characterization system of Chinese herbal medicines,which will lay the foundations for building feature map of Chinese herbal medicines.The last is that using the datum of XRF、PXRD and FTIR can describe the herbalmedicines objectively from the element type, content, atomic and molecular structure level.The platform shows the basic characteristics of the examined medicine without anyexternal. In this study, it solves the key technical problems from the source in the qualitycontrol process in the traditional Chinese medicine. It can promote the establishment ofquality standards of Chinese herbal medicines and also can make up the deficiency thatsingle-index component of herbal Pieces in current pharmacopoeia. This paper is usefulfor controlling growing conditions of herbal medicines Breeding and GAP conditions, italso has a great significance to promote the economic development of Chinese medicineindustry.
