Pathological Foundation Of Preoperative Estimation And Functional Localization Of Refractory Epilepsy

Objective To explore the pathological characteristics of the temporal epileptic foci and the effect of section.To explore the preoperative estimation and functional localization of refractory epilepsy.Methods: surgery procedure was performed on 30 patients with temporal epilepsy.the clinical, neurophysiological and MRI examinations were done preoperatively.then the temporal lobectomy were performed under the ECoG, and the pathological examination of the epileptic foci were done.result: there are tumors finded in 14 patients, vascular malformation in 6 and traumatic scar in 3, hippocampus sclerosis in 4, cortical dysplasia in one patient, et al.discussion: the absence of nerocyte and gliosis were observed in tissue. the brain was reacted straitlacedly to such changes. Comprehend localization will help completing the section of the foci.the mechanism caused by pathological changes.
