Objective The study of the main pathogenic bacteria and drug resistance of lower respiratory tract infection, and offering the basis of using antibiotics correctly for the physiciaons of respiration department. Method In the period of Jan 2007 to Dec 2007, Isolated 107 strains of qualified sputum from 104 patients of the respiration department in the first affilication hospital of Xinjiang medical university. Selected experimental methods and estimated drug susceptibilities according to the diagnosis standard of NCCLS. Results Totally 107 strains of pathogenic bacteria, it had been found that 78 strains of Gram- negative bacilli, accounted for 72.8%, 19strains of Gram-positive cocci, accounted for 17.7%, 10 strains of fungi, accounted for 9.3%. The pathogens of highest infective rate were: Acinetobacter baumannii(18.6%), Klebsiella pneumoniae(17.7%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa(14.9%), Staphy lococcus aureus(7.4%), Cuticle staphylococcus(4.6%), Entero -bacter cloacae(3.7%), Candida albicans(3.7%), Escherichia coli(2.8%). Acineto -bacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae Showed sensitive to Imipenem, meropenem, piperacillin/tazobactam, cefoperazone/sulbactam, cefepine, Levo -floxacin, however resistance rate to ampicilin, ampicilin/ sulbactam, cefazolin, cefixime, cefotaxime, piperacillin, mezlocillin exceed 50.0%. Staphy lococcus aureus, Cuticle staphylococcus showed increasing sensitive to vancomycin, teicoplanin, levofloxacin. Conclusion Antimicrobial resistance of clinical isolates threatens the success of infectious disease treatment. It is very important to promote the rational useof antimicrobial agents so that resistance is minimized and take effective containment for the control of the probiem.
