Objective To master the prevalence and the distributive characteristic of risk factors related to non-communicable chronic diseases of residents in Chengdu. To know the prevalence of hypertension, hyperlipemia and diabetes, and to analyze its influence factors to offer scientific basis for making related policies and intervention strategies and for adopting the pointed measures. To know the disability severity and evaluate the health status of residents by disability-adjusted life expectancy of Chengdu residents. Methods Multi-stage stratified random sampling was used, and the combination of centralizing investigation and enter-household investigation were used to collect data. The descriptive analysis was used to analyze the prevalence and the distributive characteristic of risk factors related to chronic diseases. The influence factor models of hypertension, hyperlipemia and diabetes were explored by multivariate logistic regression. Severity-weighted score of disability was achieved through confirmatory factor analysis, and Sullivan's method was used to calculate disability-adjusted life expectancy. Results The current smoking rate of Chengdu residents is 24.6%, and the distributive characteristic shows that the rate of suburban residents is higher than that of outskirt and urban residents, and this rate of male residents is 10 times that of female residents. The passive smoking rate is 35.8%, the passive smoking main place of male and female are public places and houses respectively. The drinking rate is 37.2% and its population distributive characteristic is in agreement with that of current smoking rate. 17.7% residents are lack of physical activity, especially the people over 60. The residents' overweight rate is 23.6%, the obesity rate is 8.2%, and the central obesity rate is 34.4%. The situation of female obesity and central obesity is severer than that of male. There is a tendency that the obesity rate and the central obesity rate increase with age. The prevalence of hypertension, hyperlipemia and diabetes of Chengdu residents are 18.7%,3.6% and 2.1% respectively. The main influene factors of hypertension are age and central obesity; the main influene factors of hyperlipemia are area, age, education and central obesity; the main influence factors of diabetes are area, age, smoking, drinking and central obesity. With age increasing, disability severity of Chengdu residents increases significantly. The 0 year disability-adjusted life expectancy is 65.55 years, and the 60 years disability-adjusted life expectancy is 16.69 years, the lose of life expectancy are 9.15 years and 1.86 years respectively due to disability. Conclusion Residents in different area, age and sex have different smoking and drinking situation. The smoking rate and the drinking rate of suburban, male are higher. The prevalence of urban residents with hypertension, hyperlipemia and diabetes are higher, and the main influence factors include smoking and central obesity. According to the three-level prevention strategy of disease, for suburban residents, it is helpful to take primary prevention measures positively and strengthen health education for controlling the prevalence of risk factors of chronic disease; Adopt secondary prevention to residents with chronic diseases, develop and strengthen health education in the whole urban, so that people can realize the importance of primary prevention. Disability has a bigger impact on the health status of old people and females, so non-fatal disability consequence caused by diseases should be paied attention to in order to improve the life quality of people.
