| The study guided by traditional Chinese medicine theory believes that disharmony function of qi is crucial to acute stroke.Brain and gastrointestine correlate closely by active of qi and veins and arteries.Therefore,during acute stage of stroke,besides the appearance of brain injured, there is gastrointestinal dysfunction due to disharmony function of qi and the effect of brain injured. Gastrointestinal dysfunction aggravate brain injured to result in vicious cycle and even death. Piwei is the centre of function of qi arising and falling.Modulating active of qi which is the main method of treating acute stroke make chiefly middle energizer easy and smooth,ascend the clear and descend the turbid ,open brain holes and smooth intestine organs to recover the normal function of brain and stomache intestine. So selecting sanhuatang which is invented by Physician Lihejian in Jinyuan periods and considering it can modulate the active of qi,ascend the clear and descend the turbid. The previous empirical study showed sanhuatang can obviously improve SOD amount,reduce MDA amount in injured brain tissue.This experiment is designed to observe Sanhuatang's protection and mechanism on old rats'brain and stomach intestine injured by cerebral ischemia-reperfusing .The result shows that sanhuatang can obviously reduce TNF amount in injured brain tissue, evidently reduce TXB2 amount, increase 6-Keto-PGF1a amount and Na+-K+-ATP, Ca2+-ATP amount in damaged intestine tissue.The conclusion manifests that Sanhuatang has protective effect on brain and gastrointestine injured by cerebral ischemia-reperfusing and confirms brain and gastrointestine correlate closely ,reminds us not to forget treating gastrointestine while treating brain during the management of acute storke and other cerebropathia.At the same time, provides scientific evidence and effective medicine for acute stroke treatment by modulating function of qi.
