| Object: Bone malunion or delayed union is an important complications in orthopedicclinics.Though many papers focus in it, there still have some problems need to answer.Application with herb medicine combination with bone marrow transplantation, we hope tosurvey and establish a new treatment for bone malunion and delayed union.Method: The model of rabbits' radius delayed union were devided into three groups.Group A received both herb medicine and local bone marrow transplantation; group B onlydealed with bone marrow transplantation and group C had no treatment. Moreover, thesample was observed by histomorphology, AKP stain, X-ray, bone mineral density andbiomechanics in different stages.Result: In 12 weeks, there have identical lamellar bone and marrow cavityrecanalization in group A and no obvious difference between normal bone and the newbone. A lot of solid bony callus were in group B and displaced out-of order, companyingwith bone trabecula formed. In group C, the bone defect were filled with fibroblastic andconnective tissue. Bone defect in group A healed more rapidly than in group B and C, andthe ratio of healing were higher by AKP and X-ray. According to the bone mineral densityand biomechanics, group A were better than B and C.Conclusion: In delayed union models of rabbit's radius, herb medicine and local bonemarrow transplantation can obviously promote bone healing and the quality of new bonewas better than only processing with bone marrow transplantation.
