Clinical Research On Treating Perennial Allergic Rhinitis (PAR) By Pill Of Bi Min Ling

Objective: To observe the effects of Pill of Bi Min Ling in treating perennial allergic rhinitis. Methods: 60 perennial allergic rhinitis patients were selected,and divided them into treatment group( 30 cases,take Pill of Bi Min Ling orally ) and controlled group( 30 cases,take Tablet of Yi Yin Li orally ).The amelioration conditions of clinical symptoms and signs were observed as well as the changes of eosinophil ( EOS ) between pretreatment and post-treatment. Result : (1)The total effective rate is 76.67% in treatment group,and that is 73.33% in controlled groups.There is no significance between them by statistics evaluation. (2)The amelioration conditions of clinical symptoms and signs between pretreatment and post-treatment: By comparison within groups, there is significative difference between treatment group and controlled group both pretreatment and post-treatment. There is significative difference by comparison between groups in the amelioration conditions of nasal discharge ,and the treatment group is better than the controlled group.(3)The counting evaluation of eosinophil in nasal discharge : By comparison within groups , there is significative difference between treatment group and controlled group both pretreatment and post-treatment. There is significative difference by comparison between groups and the treatment group is better than the controlled group. Conclusions : Asthenic cold of the lung qi and the weakness of defending force are the main pathogeny of perennial allergic rhinitis. The main principal treatment is to supplement qi to consolidate the superficial resistance,wipe off the chill and expel wind. Pill of Bi Min Ling is the ideal medicine for perennial allergic rhinitis . No side effects were found during the study.
