Objective:To observe the effect and safety of modified Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang Granules in patients with Perennial Allergic Rhinitis(PAR).Methods:100patients with PAR were randomly divided into treatment group (50cases) and control group (50cases). The treatment group were treated by modified Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang Granules,3times a day, for two weeks, while the control group were treated by Loratadine Tablets,1time every night, for two weeks as well. During the treatment,physical signs, systemic symptoms and adverse effects of both groups were collected and recorded. Statistical analysis was performed to evaluate the significance of modified Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang Granules.Result:There were no statistical difference on gender, age, patient condition and systemic symptom between the treatment group and control group prior to treatment (base line)(P>0.05). By the end of experiment, the effective rates between the treatment group and the control group with no statistical difference (P>0.05). Indicating that the treatment group is superior to the control group in ameliorating systemic symptoms. In thisresearch topic,there were no adverse effects for the treatment group and control group.Conclusion:The treatment group has a fine therapeutic effect with few untoward effects, and the systemic symptoms were improved with Modified Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang Granules group.The safety evaluation of both the treatment group and control groupswere grade two.It is worth to do more study in this field.
