Objective:To explore the therapeutic effect and mechanism of Jianpiwenshen Soup in treating Spleen Yang-deficiency and Kidney Yang-deficiency syndrome of Ulcerative Colitis (SYKYSUC).Methods:60 cases of SYKYSUC were divided into two groups randomly.The treatment group of 30 cases was treated with Jianpiwenshen Soup while the control group of 30 cases was treated with tablet sulfasalazine.Symptoms,signs,colonic mucous membrane picture(CMMP) and pathological examination(PE) of each group were observed before and after the treatment.The relapse rate and adverse reactions were observed after different therapy.Results:The treatment group and the control group had no difference in the total clinic effect,but the treatment group was much better than the control group in improving clinical symptoms and signs. The treatment group had the same effect in improving the CMMP and PE with the control group.At the same time,the treatment group had no adverse reactions,the relapse rate was also lower than the control group. Conclusion:Jianpiwenshen Soup is effective treatment for SYKYSUC.The mechanism might be related to regulating the immunity of economy, regulating the gastrointestinal dynamics,controlling the inflammatory reaction etc.
