Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Gubenqufeng Decoction to allergicrhinitis, and provide an experimental basis for clinical treatment of allergicrhinitis, then explore the most effective way to treat allergic rhinitis. Methods:Animal experiments: 90 guinea pigs were randomly divided into normalcontrol group, model group, the treated group and the Xinqin group. Establishallergic rhinitis model of guinea pig by injecting vaccine(OVA+Alumina), afterthat guinea pigs were filled with Gubenqufeng decoction and Xinqin granula. Twoweeks later, the action of guinea pigs and the nasal eosinophil content wereobserved in all groups, the levels of IgE, cytokines IL-4 and IFN-γin serumwere determined by ELISA as well.Clinical Observation: 120 patients with allergic rhinitis were randomizedinto the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group were givenGubenqufeng decoction and the control group with Xinqin granula. Theimprovement of symptoms were observed after one and two months treatment. Results:Animal experiments: The control group and the rest group differences werestatistically significant (P<0.05) in behavioral observation. The nasalinflammatory cell infiltration and edema, hyperemia in control group wassignificantly lower than the model group, and the serum IgE, IL-4 levels weresignificantly lower than the model group, IFN-γlevels were significantlyhigher than the model group (P<0.05).Clinical Observation: After two month' s treatment, the total efficiencyof the treatment group was 75%, and the control group was 66.7%; After fourmonths' treatment the total efficiency of the treatment group was 83.3%, and the control group was 73.3%. Compared the two groups were statisticallysignificant (P<0.05).Conclusion:In animal experiments, Gubenqufeng decoction can improve symptoms ofguinea pig model with allergic rhinitis by inducing inhibition of IFN-γ, andpromoting the production of IgE and IL-4. In clinical Observation, Gubenqufengdecoction can relieve the symtoms of nasal obstruction, snivelling, nasalitching, sneezing and other symptoms in patients with allergic rhinitis, reducethe leakage of eosinophils and inhibit I allergic role. So it is a reliablemethod to treat allergic rhinitis which is effective, with stable efficacy andlittle side effects.
