A Correlative Research Between The Technological Output Of Chinese Honors Of Nightingale Medal And Social Influence

Objective:By the analysis results of quantitative study on the technological output and qualitative study on the social influence of apical experts of nursing science, so as to provide some important reference on cultivating nursing elites, and to provide some basic ideas of administration on nursing science.Subjects and methods:The basic information is collected from 43 Chinese honors of Nightingale medal from 1983 to 2005. Literature Retrieve, analytic hierarchy process (AHP), seminar and Spearman rank relevant analysis were applied in this study, and data was analyzed with the SPSS 12.0.Results:1. The technological output of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal before they received the awards.The most academic papers of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal before they received the awards are 42, the least is 0, average papers of all honors is 4, 19 honors have 0 paper, which account for 44.17%; 11 honors are less than or equal to 4, which account for 25.58%. The most quoted academic papers of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal before they received the awards are 19, the least is 0, average quoted academic papers of all honors are 2. The proportion of quoted paper is 51.16%.The most quoted times of one academic paper is 52, least is 0, the average quoted times is 5.88. High frequency quoted rate is 50%. Basically these papers have not published in SCI, EI, ISTP, CSSCI and so on; the highest influence factor of one paper is 1.499, least is 0, the average is 0.637. Honors who publish literatures most are5, the list is 0, average of all honors is0; 34 honors have 0, which account for 79.10%.2. The corrective relationship between science output of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal they received the awards and social influence.The analysis results of quantitative study on the technological output and qualitative study on the social influence of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal doesn't present reverse coherence(r_s=-0.2, p=0.198) it demonstrated that social influence of honors do not decided their technological output.Conclusion:1. It put forward that innovation should be as important as dedicative spirit of FlorenceNightingale. 2. It put forward that the election of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal need pay greater attention to the technical contribution.Suggestion:1. Innovation especially technology innovation is the essential approach to promote the development of nursing science.2. Positively expand human resource of nurse, and exert to cultivate leaders of nursing science.Originality in this study:1. Honors of Nightingale medal of China is explored as a system for the first time and make a thorough systematic study of its relationship between the technological output and social influence.2. It put forward innovation should be as important as dedicative spirit of Florence Nightingale, and the election of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal should pay greater attention to the technical contribution. After the retrieval, we not yet discover the same or similar reports.Plans for making further investigations:1. More work should be done to collect the whole data and materials of the technological output of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal before they received the awards.2. The essential factors set for evaluating the technological output of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal before they received the awards should be further consummated.3. More work should be done to collect the data and materials in order to make a comparative study between the technological output of Chinese honors of Nightingale medal and the honors of overseas.
