Abstract/Summary:
Objective: A survey was performed for the feature of subclinical extensive of Basal Cell Carcinoma under microscope. Then the prediction of subclinical extensive was discussed. Methods: Pathological sections including complete tumor microscopically were selected and measured. The feature of tumors was described and diameter of tumor was measured microscopically and macroscopically, then correlation between the microscopic and macroscopic diameter was analyzed. Results: As for BCC tumor with diameter less than 18mm, the invasion of tumor has a feature of localization and dissymmetry. The depth seldom exceed deep fascia. Linear correlation exists between microscopic diameter (Y) and macroscopic diameter (X ) of tumor. Regression equation: Y = 1.590 + 0.998X (mm) , 95%CI ofβ(0.861, 1.135) , R~2=0.84.Conclusions: Subclinical invasion of BCC is local and dissymmetric; There is linear correlation between microscopic diameter and macroscopic diameter of tumor. Diameter of BCC maybe considered as an index of subclinical extensive invasion but needs more clinical confidence.
