Investigation On The Service Identity Of The University's Hospital

University's hospital is the main body responsible for the medical treatment of teachers and students. It takes the primary hygiene function for its responsibility. The aim of it is to make the university steady. Therefore, the service identity of the university's hospital must be related to the development of the university it belongs to.On the basis of Literature Review, the essay defined the service identity of the university's hospital as the teachers and students' general impression or evaluation on service consciousness, service quality provided by the university's hospital. Based on the consultation of experts, the questionnaires were formed. The research was carried out in Southwest University. 415 out of 480 questionnaires were available. SPSS 13.0 for Windows was used in this research. The results showed that:1. The service identity of the university's hospital had four dimensions: visible carrier, service attitude and consciousness, level of skills and service management.2. There were favorable internal concordance coefficient, split-half reliability, content validity, construct validity in the "Questionnaire on the Service Identity of Southwest University's hospital", which indicated that the questionnaire could be used as an instrument for evaluating the service identity of the university's hospital.3. From the teachers' perspective, the service identity of Southwest University' hospital was not bad. There was no education level difference in teachers' evaluation on the hospital's service identity. However, there was gender, age and vocation difference in their evaluating. The female and young teachers had the worse evaluation.4. The students' evaluation on the service identity of Southwest University's hospital was lower than the average level. There was no gender difference in students' evaluation on the service identity of the hospital. They showed education types, major and age difference in their evaluating. The liberal art students and graduate students had the worse evaluation.5. Both teachers and students had better evaluation on the visible carrier of the hospital. In general, the teachers' evaluation was better than the students'.6. The service identity of Southwest University's hospital should be improved. The advices were as follows: improving the service identity from the 4 dimensions; enhancing health care and strengthening the health propagation, especially for the undergraduates; making the best of the Network of provide service; innovating the mode of service to improve the influence of the hospital.This research not only represents a definition of service identity of university's hospital, but also makes systematic divisions of its factors. Moreover, the advices for Southwest University's hospital can be also used as reference in future.
