Exogenous fever is a commonly encountered disease in pediatric practice, which equals to acute upper respiratory tract infection in modern medicine. The incidence rate of exogenous fever holds the first place in pediatrics'diseases. The features of the disease are fast attacking and urgent progress. Now it becomes one of the major diseases affecting the health of children. It is discovered that traditional Chinese medicine has many advantages intreating the disease, such as fast pyretolysis, exact curative effect and thefewer side effects. Because of so many advantages, traditional Chinesemedicine is attached more importance to.The program bases upon the clinical practice of Chinese medicine masterDeng Tietao. It has been discovered that chiropractic therapy has satisfactoryeffect in treating exogenous fever, because it can low down the temperaturerapidly and relieve symptoms effectively. We investigated the mechanism bywhich exogenous fever was treated.ObjectiveTo investigate the microecology and immunologic mechanism of exogenousfever patients treated by chiropractic therapy.MethodsWe collected 40 cases of exogenous fever aged between 1 and 12, and divided them into two groups, the control group and the group treated by chiropractictherapy. The two representative intestinal bacteria, bifidobacteria which wasanaerobe and escherichia coli which was aerobe in the excrement of the patients, were measured by the real time fluorescent quantitation PCR based upon Taqmantechnique. Then we compared the changes of the microbial population beforeand after the treatment. By comparing the symptom integral calculus, leucocytecount, C-reactive protein level before and after the treatment, weinvestigated the mechanism of chiropractic therapy by which exogenous feverwas treated.ConclusionAfter exogenous fever is treated by chiropractic therapy, the quantityof Bifido bacteria representative of anaerobe increases, and the quantity ofEscherichia coli representative of aerobe reduces. Thus it restores theimmunologic barrier and chemistry barrier, strengthens the field plantingresistance and restrains the increase of the latent crowd of pathogenicbacteria. It has the function of maintaining local immunity, makes localinflammation, the releasing of chemical mediator and neurotransmitter returnto normal, and changes the conduct of central temperature regulation signals. So it makes the temperature drop and relieves the symptoms.
