| Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Xiaodian Soup on HSP and the change of serum TNF-αlevel in patients with HSP before and after treatment. To discuss the pathogenesis of HSP and functional mechanism of Xiaodian Soup on HSP.Method: 52. patients with HSP were divided into two groups according to random number table method. 26 patients were in the treatment group with Xiaodian Soup and 26 patients in the control group with prednisone. One period of treatment lasted for two months. After two periods of treatment, the clinical efficacy was observed. The lever of TNF-αin serum was measured by ELISA.Result: Xiaodian Soup had an exact curative effect. The total effective rate of Xiaodian Soup was 92.0%. The total effective rate of prednisone was 88.0%. There was no significant difference between the two groups in total effective rate. The levels of serum TNF-αof HSP patients were higher than that the normal group. After treatment by Xiaodian Soup the TNF-αexpression levels of HSP patients were decreased.Conclusion: Xiaodian Soup was equivalent in clinical total effective rate to prednisone(P> 0.05). The serum TNF-αlevels of HSP patients were higher than the normal group. After treatment the levels of TNF-αin serum were decreased. Xiaodian Soup probably adjusts the TNF-αexpression levels of HSP patients to take effect. The research results indicate that Xiaodian Soup is an effective prescription to treat HSP, which is worth further studying and developing.
