| Objective: To investigate the expression of Galectin-3 and P27 protein and the relationship with clinicopathological features in normal gastric mucosa, atypical hyperplasia, early gastric cancer, and advanced gastric carcinoma. Galectin-3 protein expressed either in normal cells or tumor cells,it acts in process of the cell growth,adhering,differentiation and apoptosis. Some detections found that the Galectin-3 protein could infect the process of some tumous and related with gastric cancer, but the effect is not clear in metastasis of tumor. p27 protein had important action in cell cycle, it can inhibit the facts of some cyclin-CDK and inhibit the cell hyperplasia. p27 protein can promote the differentiation and apoptosis .Methods: Detecting the expression of Galectin-3, P27 protein in normal gastric mucosa, atypical hyperplasia, early gastric cancer and advanced gastric carcinoma by immunohistochemical method.Results: The positive rates of Galectin-3 protein were 30.0%, 44.0%, 64.2% and 82.6% respectively in normal gastric mucosa, atypical hyperplasia, early gastric cancer and advanced gastric carcinoma, and the positive rates of P27 protein were 85.0%, 72.0%, 42.8% and 26.0%.Conclusion: 1,the higher positive rate of Galectin-3 protein was related with the process of gastric carcinoma and metastasis of lymph node,but had no significant difference in the differentiation and TNM. It may be the significance level for diagnosing the gastric cancer and the metastasis in lymph node.2,it's related with decreasing of p27 protein, the occurrence of gastric cancer and the metastasis in lymph node. The decreasing of p27 protein may be the important target of process of gastric cancer and thedegree of malignancy.3,The expression of Galectin-3 protein is opposite to the expression of p27 protein in gastric cancer, but had no significant difference. It may be improved the exact rate of diagnosing gastric cancer by detecting these two proteins. |
