Background:Endometrial atypical hyperplasia(AH) is a type of endometrial hyperplasia, It has a certain tendency to carcinogenesis, it was classified as a precancerous lesion.With the recent research on the inhibin-depth and found that inhibin has a variety of physiological functions, it gynecologic oncology and reproductive endocrinology has a very close relationship.Research has also shown that the existence of inhibin in normal endometrium,Therefore, to explore inhibin in endometrial atypical hyperplasia in the expression for endometrial atypical hyperplasia pathogenesis of looking for new ways of thinking, And also it may be look for new specific marker in the differential diagnosis of AH.Objective:To detect the frequency and tissues discibution patterns of the inhibin subunits,estrogen and progesterone receptors in AH tissues, and to investigate the precise aetiology of AH and the clinical value of specific marker in the differential diagnosis of AH.Methods:Paraffin-embedded tissue specimens from 20 cases of endometrial atypical hyperplasia, 15 cases of simple hyperplasia, 16 cases of complex hyperplasia, 15 cases of normal proliferative and 16 cases of normal secretory. They were examined by monoclonal antibody of INH-α,INH-βA,INH-βB, anti-ER ,anti-PR with immunohistochemical technique.Result:1.INH subunits expressed in normal endometrial,simple hyperplasia, complex hyperplasia and atypical hyperplasia.The expression intensity of INH subunits in normal proliferative endometria was significantly lower than that of normal secretory endometria(P<0.05).2.The expression of INH-α,INH-βA in atypical hyperplasia was lower than secretory endometria (P<0.05) ,simple(P<0.05) and complex hyperplasia tissues(P<0.05).And the expression intensity of INH-α, INH-βA decreased during simple , complex and atypical hyperplasia.while the expression of INH-βB in atypical hyperplasia was not lower than secretory endometria(P>0.05) and simple hyperplasia (P>0.05).3.Both ER and PR expressed in normal endometria and simple , complex ,atypical hyperplasia.And the expression of ER and PR in atypical hyperplasia was lower than in proliferative endometria(P<0.05).4. In endometrial atypical hyperplasia in the expression of PR and INHα,βA,βB expression of the three sub-units related to sexual relations does not exist(P>0.05).Conclusion:There exists INH subunits in normal endometria,simple hyperplasia, complex hyperplasia and atypical hyperplasia.The expression of INH-α,INH-βA in atypical hyperplasia was lower than secretory endometria and simple hyperplasia tissues,this showed that atypical hyperplasia tissues was rather proliferative phase to secretory phase.INH subunits may play important roles in endometrial pathogenesis,which might contridute to progression to malignancy,and INH-βA subunits might be useful markers for the precise diagnosis of AH. PR and the three sub-units of INH in endometrial atypical hyperplasia does not exist in the pathogenesis of the closely related to each other.
