A Study On The Prevalence And Its Related Factors Of Personal Violence In Zhuhai And Enshi Middle School Students

Objective: To probe into prevalence of personal violence for middle school students in Zhuhai and Enshi,and analyze its related factors to maintain physical and mental health of students and make rule and take measures against personal violence. Method: A purposive sampling study was adopted. Using Database EpiData 3.0 and SPSS 12.0 for Windows,to look into the situation of personal violence for middle school students in Zhuhai and Enshi during the past 12 months preceding the survey. Results: The prevalence of personal violence was 53.42% in Zhuhai middle school in the past 12 months preceding the survey, accounting for 44.92% of psychological violence, 34.82% of physical violence and 16.96% of sexual violence respectively. In the same time, the prevalence of personal violence in Enshi middle school was 39.68% and accounting for 31.76% of psychological violence, 26.13% of physical violence and 8.64% of sexual violence respectively. Recess was happened to personal violence mostly. Classroom was the location most likely for violence. Those who were apt to commit such violence to students were boys agematched in the same school.After subjecting violence,victims feeled angry,reduced the passion for study, feeled anxiety or fear, planed to vengeance.The ways that victims deal with violence were forbearance and avoidance,oppose each other with equal harshness.The risk factors of personal violence were gender (OR=1.55),family structure (OR=1.51),beat others (OR=1.33),curse or threaten others (OR=1.74),school location (OR=1.43) in Zhuhai middle school.gender (OR=1.38),family structure (OR=1.55), beat others (OR =1.14), curse or threaten others (OR=1.79),school location (OR=1.24) were the risk factors of psychological violence; gender (OR=2.25),class (OR=1.13), beat others (OR =1.54),curse or threaten others (OR=1.39),school location (OR=1.57) were the risk factors of physical violence; family structure (OR= 1.46),beat others (OR=1.24),curse or threaten others (OR=1.48) were the risk factors of sexual violence. The risk factors of personal violence were gender (OR=2.36), censue register (OR=54.86), father's educational background (OR= 1.22),curse or threaten others (OR=1.73) in Enshi middle school.Gender (OR=1.75),censue register (OR=9.16),father's educational background (OR=1.21), curse or threaten others (OR=1.75) were the risk factors of psychological violence; gender (OR=3.63),censue register (OR=5.14), beat others (OR=1.43),curse or threaten others (OR=1.34) were the risk factors of physical violence; age (OR=1.98), family structure (OR=1.70), censue register (OR=3.39),beat...
