Equity and efficiency in health reform is the main theme that needs to be addressed. The hospital has concentrated 80% or so resource in hygiene system. The hospital efficiency has been the priority that all of the various levels leader and general public care for commonly. The teaching hospital has three big functions, including teaching , scientific research and hygiene medical treatment serve. To improve the efficiency of teaching hospitals health manpower,it not only helps to improve quality of medical and health services, but also is conducive to the training of medical personnel. Therefore, we study efficiency trend of health manpower in a teaching hospital.Evaluation of the efficiency of hospital health manpower is of great significance, for strengthening hospital management, giving full play to benefits of health manpower resources and improving the social and economic benefits of resources. We study the efficiency trend of the teaching hospital health manpower; we analyze changes conditions and trend of the teaching hospital health manpower efficiency indexes; We analyze the factors that affect teaching hospital health manpower efficiency; and then we submit the policy suggestions which improve teaching hospital health manpower efficiency.This study adopted historical analysis method,social investigation method,statistical description method and other research methods to analyze composes condition,amount of work and the various index of efficiency of a teaching hospital health manpower.Software SPSS 13.0 was used to deal with and analysis the data. This study shows a steady upward trend of a teaching hospital health manpower, by analysis of health manpower efficiency indicators in a teaching hospital from 1997 to 2005.The study of nine years from 1997 to 2005 at a teaching hospital shows that the health manpower efficiency is improved steadily. The cause affecting teaching hospital health manpower efficiency has mainly: 1.A greater percentage of non-technical level in health manpower; 2.The poor quality of health technicians; 3.The short of elementary office holder talented person in hygiene technology team; 4.The unreasonable ratio of professional. 5. The health management team structure needs to be improved and the quality needs to be raised.To further enhance the teaching hospitals health manpower efficiency, teaching hospitals need to improve personnel structure; optimize service process, and introduce into high-technique equipments to lift the bed velocity; construct section offices with own features, expand service spectrum and explore the optional medical market; further evaluation of the of health manpower efficiency index.
