| Objective: To explore the effect and mechanism of the prescription of clearing away heat and relieving asthma according to therapy of descending lung Qi to smooth asthma, dispersing lung Qi to resolve cough and clearing away phlegm-heat for asthma of heat type. Methods: We observed 43 children with asthma of heat type in Singapore treated by prescription of clearing away heat and relieving asthma. Using statistic method to comparing the major symptom score. Results: The clinical study showed that the recovery case, marked case, effective case and the total effective rate were respectively 4(9.3%), 25(58.1%), 10(23.3%) and 90.7%. The major symptom score decreased significantly after treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion: These indicate that the therapy of descending lung Qi to smooth asthma, dispersing lung Qi to resolve cough and clearing away phlegm-heat is effective for asthma of heat type. The prescription of clearing away heat and relieving asthma is effective in treating children asthma of heat type in Singapore and should be widely applied in clinic. |
