Bulbus Fritillariae Ussuriensis is one of Bulbus Fritillaria in the Chinese crude drug, and it is dry bulb of perennial herbage Fritillaria Ussuriensis Maxim in Liliaceae. It has been recorded by each edition pharmacopoeia in our country since 1977 and is a kind of Chinese crude drug which was commonly used by people. Bulbus FritillariaeUssuriensis has the same effect as Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae and Bulbus Fritillariae Thunbergii in clinical application, it has been widely used for the antitussive and expectorant drug in the single or compound traditional Chinese medicine. Natural resources of Bulbus Fritillaria have not been able to be satisfied with people's needs. Coefficient of asexual reproduction in Bulbus Fritillariae Ussuriensis is higher than other Bulbus Fritillaria.Cultivation and tissue technology and outputs have been increasingly improved ,and it has occupied an important place in Bulbus Fritillaria cultivation of entire country. People usually use Bulbus FritillariaeUssuriensis to take the place of Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae in folk medicine,even in the dosage of Bulbus Fritillariae . Therefore,people also pay close attention to research of Bulbus Fritillariae Ussuriensis and there is great progress on cultivation, exacting and seperating of active components,quality control,etc... Standardized management has been carried out on plant and cultivation and there are GAP fields in Bulbus Fritillariae Ussuriensis in the north-east. However,contents of alkaloids are lower in Bulbus Fritillaria and monomer seperating and purification are more difficult. Furthermore,composing of alkaloids from different Bulbus Fritillaria is also complicated. In this situation,quality evaluation can hardly achieve satisfactory progress.
