Objective To investigate the effect of anti-senile on Polygonum miltiflorumThunb. of the different steamed times in subacute senile rats .Methods Wistar rats were randomly divided into ten groups with a half of femaleor male: normal group, model group (D-galactose, 50mg/kg/d), ginsenoside group(100mg/kg.ig,D-galactose,50mg/kg/d), Polygonum miltiflorum Thunb. by steamedwithout adjuvant group and 0h, 2h, 4h, 6h, 8h, 10h of Polygonum miltiflorumThunb. by steamed with bean groups, contineously 42 days, after the last time,SOD activities, MDA contents and CAT activities of serum, liver or brain wasassayed, however, including of LDH activities of serum. At the meantime, thymusand spleen was weighted, respectively.Results After injection of D-galactose, the activities of SOD or CAT weredecreased by the Polygonum miltiflorum Thunb. of the different steamed timeswith bean groups, and the content of MDA or LDH was increased. The weights ofthymus and spleen were both increased in Polygonum miltiflorum Thunb. bysteamed with bean groups.Conclusion Polygonum miltiflorum Thunb. of the different steamed times has aobvious anti-senile effect. However, 10h of Polygonum miltiflorum Thunb. bysteamed with bean was the best steamed time.
