Clinical And Experimental Study Of Tongluo Sanjie Tincture In Treating Cancer Pain

Objection: To evaluate the analgesic effect of Tongluo Sanjie tincture through clinical and experimental study and explore the mechanism underlying treating cancer pain of Tongluo Sanjie Tincture. Method: We observed the therapeutic effect of Tongluo Sanjie Tincture compared with the drugs according to the guidelines of "analgesic ladder". And we produced rat models of inflammatory and bone cancer pain to observe the effect of Tongluo Sanjie Tincture compared with Votlin emulgel. Then we detected the level of PGE₂ and β-EP in the spinal cord and tumors of the rats with bone cancer pain. Results: The total effective rate of Tongluo Sanjie Tincture was 82.5% while the order of the analgesic effect on pain types is: soft tissue pain =neuralgia>ostealgia>visceral pain>mixing pain. Tongluo Sanjie Tincture can also improve the patients' living quality. The mean time starting act of Tongluo Sanjie Tincture was 0.18±0.06 h. No significant side-effect of Tongluo Sanjie Tincture was observed. Tongluo Sanjie Tincture eased swelling of ankle and decreased the scores of arthritic flexion pain test and inflammatory infiltration of rats with inflammatory pain. Tongluo Sanjie Tincture prolonged withdrawal latency for cold hyperalgesia of rats with bone cancer pain. Tongluo Sanjie Tincture decreased PGE₂ in tumors and increased β-EP in the spinal cord of rats with bone cancer pain. Conclusion: Tongluo Sanjie Tincture has a definite therapeutic effect on cancer pain, and Tongluo Sanjie Tincture has analgesic effect on cancer pain maybe through antagonizing increasing of PGE₂ in tumors and descending of β-EP in spinal cord.
