Objective: To discuss the skin anti-aging effect of Senqi Syrup on aged rats and explore the mechanism of action. Method: 18-20 months rats and 4-6 months rats were given with Senqi Syrup for 6 weeks. Then all the rats were killed to detect the changes of following items: activity of SOD in skin and serum of rats;the content of MDA, lipofuscin and hydrooxyprolin in skin of rats;estradiol level of female rats and testosterone level of male rats. Result: Compared with the old model group, Senqi Syrup can increase the activity of SOD in skin and serum;decreasing the content of MDA, Lf in skin;increase the content of Hyp in skin, E2 and T in serum, which has statistic significance. Conclusion: In conclusion, the antiaging function of Senqi Syrup may be related to the facfors below: strengthening the ability to clear free radical;postponing the formation and accumulation of Lf and improving the endocrine of body.
