| Objective: To observe the effect of Wei- Ling chongji on the Proliferating cell nuclear antigen and gastric mucosa pathological histology in rats model of Chronic Atrophic Gastritis, and to explore the mechanism in the retreatment of CAG.Methods: One hundred Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups : normal control group, model group, WeiMeiSu control group, low-dose WL group and high-dose WL group.Except normal control group rats, CAG model was established in other rats by synthetical method: 2%salicylas and 55 hot water which contained 150g/L Nacl were given once a day ,and 20mmol/L sodium deoxycholate was drink freely,et al, all the factors were given for ninety days,as they are overeating and hungering, When the model was established successfully , Except normal control group rats, others rats were treated with different medicines ,after a month, all the rats were sacrificed.Their stomaches were collect to detect PCNA by immunohistochemistry methods and observe the histologic mucosa changes by microscopy.Results: Compared to normal control group,the PCNA in the model group was significantly lower (p<0.01),and the pathologic changes of gastric mucosa were significantly worse.Those rats were treated with different medicines ,for a month,there was significant statistics difference in pathologic changes of gastric mucosa and PCNA between low-dose WL,high-dose WL and model group.(p< 0.01)Conclusion: The expression of PCNA is significantly higher in gastric mucosa of CAG rats,it is a important factor induced CAG,WL could inhibit the abnormal proliferating of rats' gastric mucosa cell,even can turnover partly the pathologic changes ofgastric mucosa,it might be one of the mechanisms of WL to treat CAG effectively.
