Efficacy Of Intra-Tumor Injection Of Xiao-Zhi-Ling In Treating Transplanted Hepatoma In Rats

Objective To study the therapeutic effect of Xiao-Zhi-Ling ( XZL ) on transplanted hepatoma in rats by intra-tumor injection.Methods 30 rats were divided into 3 groups ( S, X and E), 10 rats in each group. Different drugs were injected into their implanted hepatoma (S groups with 0.2ml saline as control, X groups with 0.2ml XZL, E groups with 0.2ml ethanol ). After 3 days and after 8 days,we detected the hepatoma volume( HV ), the level of albumin, alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase ( AST ) and alkaline phosphatase( ALP )in serum, the expression of proliferatincell nuclear antigen ( PCNA ) in hepatoma. Results The results had been abtained. After 3 days, the HVs in X and E Were smaller than those in S groups ( P<0.05 ), the levels of ALTand AST in S groups and X groups were lower than those in E groups ( P<0.05 ) , the levels of ALP and PCNA labeling index (PCNA LI ) in X groups were lower than those in S groups and E groups ( P<0.05 ) . After 8 days, the HVs in X groups and E groups were smaller than that in S groups ( P<0.05 ), the difference of HVs among X groups and E groups was not significant, the levels of albumin, ALT and AST in X groups were not higher than those in Egroups ( P<0.05 ), the level ofALP in X groups was lower than that in E groups ( P<0.05 ), PCNA labeling index ( PCNA LI ) in X groups was lower than that in S groups and E groups ( P<0.05 ). Conclusions The therapeutic effects of intra-tumor injection of XZL andethanol on implanted hepatoma is obvious, but the toxicity of XZL on liver function is markedly lower than ethanol.XZL is a little better drug than ethanol in intra-tumor injection therapy.Postgraduate: Wang Xinbing (Dept. of General Surgery) Directed by: Wu Liqun , Professor...
