Objective: Pityriasis rosea (PR) is a common mild inflammatory and self-limited dermatitis. The distinctly programmed clinical course, the close relationship with season and the lack of recurrence for most patients provide the strongest evidence to support an infectious aetiology, esp. the virus infection. But for which, the exact etiology has not been found. Some scholars think autoimmunity is an alternative aetiological hypotheie, but it is under further investigation. T helper cells are composed of two main types—Thl cell and Th2 cell. Thl/Th2 cell play an important role in modulating immunology response. Thl cells produce cytokines such as IL-2, IFN- γ and TNF-b. Thl cells can induce celluar immurcology, they can activate cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) and macrophages, induce delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH).Thl cells can mediate immune responses result from cytotoxin and inflammation basis. Th2 cells can produce 1L-4, IL-5 and IL-10 etc cytokines. They mediate humor immunology, they can activate B lymph cells and eosinophile granulocyte. Both of Thl cells and Th2 cells play an important role in the immunology response by cytokines. They are self-regulating and inhibit each other. Thl/Th2 is in a dynamic balance state. The disturbance of this...
