Objective:1.To design a PBL teaching mode for the nursing clinical students and to find new mode and method fit for the nursing clinical teaching.2.To achieve transformation from'teaching for acknowledge'to'teaching for ability'and help the advanced nursing students to enhance their abilities of innovation. To shorten the disparity between theory and practice and make the students to apply what they have learned to the clinical practice, improve students'abilities of learning by themselves and learning for life, working independently, the capacity to analyze and solve problems. In this way to improve the effect of the nursing students'clinical practice and set a well-knit base for their further clinical work.Method: One hundred high-grade nursing students were included, among them there were 38 college students, 62 junior college students, 99 girls, 1 boy, and their average age was 22.8. They were divided into experimental group and comparing group at random. The 45 students in experimental group were again divided into 5 small groups, every group had 8-13 students. The experimental groups adopted the PBL method, and 55 students in the comparing group adopted the traditional method. After the practice each group should pass a uniform academic test and a writing examination for nursing case of relating ailments. They also had to fill learning effect self-comment tables (attached table). Results: Both the grades of clinical academic test and of writing examination for case of the experimental groups are better than those of the comparing group. Based on the questionnaire for teaching effect test, there are notable differences between the two groups (P<0.05). The differences have statistical meaning. Conclusion: 1. PBL method is practical and feasible and is worthy of extension and application in future nursing clinical teaching. 2. PBL in the nursing students'clinical practice helps to enhance their learning and operate skill greatly. Meanwhile it makes the students to learn with more interests and activities, thus strengthen the study efficiency. The PBL method cultivates and enhances the students'abilities of self-learning, communication, cooperating and problem resolving. It can widen their acknowledge scope, forge their thinking abilities and improve the communication and cooperation between the teachers and the students.
