Objective: This study was designed to investigate the effects of simple obesity on the beta-myosin heavy chain mRNA expression in cardiac myocytes of rats and protective action of valsartan(angiotensin II receptor blocker) and to explore the possible mechanism.Method: Established the obesity model induced by high fact feed 40 wistar rats were selected and randomized to two groups: normal control group and hyperlipidemia group The hyperlipidemia group was divided into two groups induding valsartanl group, non-medication group, these rats were given high fat feed and common roughage respectively in 8 weeks. the hyperlipidemia medication group(valsartanl 10mg/kg.d) was administrated intragastrically by the garage begin with 4th weeks the non-medication group was given the saline . the changes of LVW, LVWI was observed; the changes ofβ-MHCmRNA was observed by RT-PCR , the changes of cardiac myocytes and collagen fiber was observed by image analysis ;the changes of histology and pathology were observed by pathological section.Result: compared with normal control group, the obesity group was increased significantly in. LVW, LVWI andβ-MHCmRNA (p<0.05);compared with non-medication group, valsartanl group was declined in LVW, LVWI andβ-MHCmRNA (p<0.05), compared with normal control group, valsartanl group was increased significantly in LVW, LVWI andβ-MHCmRNA (p<0.05), LVW and LVWI both have positive correction withβ-MHCmRNA.Conclusion:β-MHCmRNA was increased significantly in the obesity rats.the increase significantly ofβ-MHCmRNA in simple obesity rat can been protected and decreased by (valsartanl) angiotensin II receptor blocker.
