ObjectiveTo compare the clinical effect of shujingfang with rupixiao and tamoxifen in the treatment of hyperplasia of the mammary glands, and to determine whether the former is more effective and secure. MethodsA total of 90 qualified patients of hyperplasia of the mammary glands (HMG) from the outpatients department were randomly divided into three groups. The treatment group was treated with shujingfang and the other two controlled groups were treated with rupixiao and tamoxifen. After having treated for three months, the change in breast soreness, its size, rigidity, distributing range of the lump in the breast and the associated symptoms were observed. Results1.The study showed that the soreness of the breast, its size, rigidity, distributing range of the lump, and associated symptoms were all alleviated significantly after treatment in three groups (P<0. 05). Comparing the three groups, there was great significant difference in the level of alleviation in the above-mentioned symptoms , and the clinical effect of treatment group was better than Chinese medicine control group or western medicine control group(p<0.05).Total effective rate in combination group reached to 96.67 percent, which was better than the other two groups. There was significantstatistical difference between them (p<0.05).2. The shujingfang group hasn' t obvious poisonous side effect, it is more secure than the other two groups (p<0.05). ConclusionsThe study showed that shujingfang had the function of alleviating breast soreness, disintegrating the lump in breast. Statistical analysis of the results demonstrated that shjingfangpian' s function was better than that of the other two groups and the shujingfang groups has less side effect, there was significant statistical difference between them(p<0. 05). The study fulfilled the objective in that shujingfang gives a more employable option for clinical use.
