Objective:To report the outcome and establish basic patterns of total knee replacement in 52 cases with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.Methods:follow-up study was carried out for two months to 20 months, averaged 13 months, in 52 cases who were treated by total knee replacement and the data were analyzed by the HSS score system Results:the follow-up showed that excellent and good results were achieved in 94.2%.avergy score before operation is 48 while postoperation is 85.6. The patients' pain and function were improved effectively after operation. Conclusions:Total knee replacement presents a satisfactory procedure to serious osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis of the knee, In order to gaining a better outcome, guiding to patients preoperatively and postoperatively should be regarded carefully...
