Objective: To discuss effect of various methods of short-term tissue storage on split-skin viability at 4°C to find a kind of clinic storage of skin and the viabilitiy of skins stored at correspondent condition. Methods: Three experiment groups investigated for storing hominine split-skin at 4 °C were 0.9% sodium chloride solution ,0.9% sodium chloride solution plus erythromycin injection and compound amino acid solution(18AA) plus erythromycin injection.A new assy, indonitrotetrazolium chloride was applied to evaluate skin viability at 1, 3, 5 and 7 day during storage respectively. Results: skin viability was very different in three solutions. The effect of compound amino acid solution plus erythromycin injection was superior to 0.9% sodium chloride solution and 0.9% sodium chloride solution plus erythromycin injection(P=0.000). Conclusion: The method of compound amion acid solution plus erythromycin injection which replaces medium routinely may be optimal method of storing skin at 4°C, it was very simple and convenient.
