| BACKGROUND: Knee arthroscopy is one of the methods of the management of the joint diseases. Some studies showed that 76% of the patients developed moderate or severe pain after knee arthroscopy. Many studies suggested that intra-articular injection of analgesic drugs might be a good approach to postoperative analgesia for knee arthroscopy. So, the purpose of this study was to observe whether the intra-articular administration of ropivacaine 100 mg can have the postoperative analgesia for knee arthroscopy, and to observe the adverse effects; and also to observe whether additional of lidocaine to the intra-articular ropivacaine can achieve an early analgesic effect and whether the combined ropivacaine with lidocaine and fentanyl can provide a better analgesic effect than the local anesthetic used alone.METHODS: One hundred and twenty ASA class I-II patients, aged 18-65 yr, undergoing knee arthroscopy, were included in this study. They were randomly divided into four groups with 30 patients each. All the patients were induced with fentanyl and propofol followed by the laryngeal mask... |
