Anti-tumor Effects Of The Combination Of Honokiol And Adriamycin In Murine Model

Objective:The aim was to observe the antitumor effects of honokiol (HNK) combined with adriamycin (ADR) in a mouse model of breast cancer, and to explore the antitumor mechanisms, our results can provide the basis for further clinical development in the treatment of solid tumors by combination with HNK.Methods:To observe the antitumor effects, we established 4T1 breast cancer models in BALB/c mice. The animals were randomized into seven groups: low-dose HNK-treated, middle-dose HNK-treated, high-dose HNK-treated, combined-treated, ADR-treated, liposome and control. Then the survival rates of mice, tumor volumes and side effects of treatment were observed. The morphological changes of tumor tissues were assessed by HE stain. Angiogenesis within tumor tissues was estimated by counting the numbers of microvessels on the section staining with an antibody reactive to CD31. Apoptosis of tumor cells was observed by TUNEL.
