| Objective To investigate the expression of survivin protein and caspase-3 protein in patients with epithelial ovarian neoplasms, and explore the relationship between the two proteins. Methods Survivin protein and caspase-3 protein were detected by immunohistochemical SP technique in 16 cases of benign epithelial ovarian tumor, and 84 cases of epithelial ovarian cancer, respectively. The relationship between the expression of the two proteins and clinical date of ovarian carcinoma was analyzed. Results (1) The positive rates of Survivin protein were 18.8% (3/16), 63.1%(53/84)in benign tumors and in epithelial ovarian cancer, respectively. There was a significant difference between benign tumors and epithelial ovarian cancer(P<0.05). The positive rates of survivin protein expression in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma, ovarian mutinous cystadenocarcinoma , endometricid carcinoma ,clear cell carcinoma and other were 64.6% (31/48), 63.6%(7/11), 57.1%(4/7), 66.7%(2/3),60.0%(9/15), respectively. The positive detection of survivin protein among these groups was not significantly different (P>0.05).The positive rates of expression of Survivin protein were 15.0% (3/20) in GradeI , 57.7% (15/36)in GradeII, 92.1%(35/38)in GradeIII, respectively and there was significant difference among them(P<0.05).The positive rates of Survivin protein were 25.0% ,40.0%,70.6%and 90.9% in stage I, II , III, IV, respectively with a significant difference between them (P<0.05). (2) The positive rates of caspase-3 protein were 93.4%(15/16), 48.8%(41/84) in benign tumors and in epithelial ovarian cancer, respectively. There was a significant difference between benign tumors and epithelial ovarian cancer(P<0.05). The positive rates of caspase-3 protein expression in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma, ovarian mutinous cystadenocarcinoma , endometricid carcinoma ,clear cell carcinoma and other were... |
