Objective: To investigate the recent state and its influencing factor of self-efficacy in new recruits , to explore the correlation among the self-efficacy and mental health status, response style, social support and training effect. At last, some mental intervention methods based on the theory of self-efficacy were suggested to improve the new recruits adapting ability under training stringent state and training achievement.Methods: 5123 samples were drawn from the recruits of three kinds of different army in Beijing, Tianjin and Luoyang at the end of 2005 years. There had 4946 male recruits, mean ages were 18.47±1.003 years old and 177 female recruits, mean ages were 18.61 ± 0.997 years old. Divided into three groups, one army of the safekeeping of group A,, B group is the Second Artillery Force some base army. People's Armed forces Police in Beijing and Tianjin of group C .1. Using the form of sense amount of General Self-Efficacy Scale, (GSES), Symptom checklist 90(SCL-90) Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire Social Support Style and make up general situation questionnaire by oneself, The first test should be done with the initially 2-3 weeks of the training for the new recruits . 2. The second test should be done after the three months of the training for the new recruits, using the same sample from . 3. During the second test for A group , marking the paper of the "outstanding new recruits" coming from the training Analyse the correlations between self-efficacy and factors of individual and family of the new recruits;Compare the scores of self-efficacy of outstanding new recruits and non-outstanding new recruits. Deal with statistics that the experimental data carries on SPSS.Results: 1.There were significant differences in recruit's self-efficacy and their age, occupation experiment and in parents' marital status, family's economic situation and father's schooling in academic credentials, and love state andfamily's factor. There has no difference with the new recruit's source area, schooling of raising way, mother of area. 2. Scores were worthy the higher for self-efficacy, the lower psychological every factor dividing value of health status (SCL-90) was;It worthed being the higher that the society supports, supports and utilizes spending fen objectively subjectively while supporting;It should be the higher to the way dividing value to be positive. 3. The second scores of self-efficacy in B group were significantly lower than that of in first test. 4. the result of the second test showed that the scores of self-efficacy in outstanding new recruits were significantly higher than that of non-outstanding new recruits.Conclusion: l.This investigation showed recruit's self-efficacy and parents' marital status, family's economic situation and father's schooling, age, educational background had remarkably correlation;Among these factors, engaged in business activity had recruits self-efficacy dividing into value of lover higher than other new recruits who selected before being enlisted in the armed forces among the love state factor in job. 2. Negative correlations between the SCL-90 factors and self-efficacy, positive correlations between subject-supporting and self-efficacy, utilize rate of social support and self-efficacy, active coping style and self-efficacy were discovered .3. Self-efficacy is significantly related to achievement. 4. The model of psychology generally using by armies may have little usefulness in improving the recruit's self-efficacy. More efficacy methods need to be explored to improve the recruit's self-efficacy.
