Research On Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Health Education On The Officers With The Rank Above The Senior Colonel In A Military Command

With the increasingly development of the structural ageing course of population in China, the health education for the middle-aged and senior people becomes a serious problem. The officers with the rank above the senior colonel are right at this period, who were or are holding important positions, and are the main force for military construction. Their health is becoming poorer with aging. The health of the high rank cadres not only has an effect on their own felicity and life quality, but also on the work efficiency, quality and the battle effectiveness of the Party and PLA. Therefore, we should put enough emphasis on the health education of the special population. The essay, studying the current heath condition of the high rank cadre, based on the survey on the reality and the analysis of the data, put forwards the solution and the suggestion, with the purpose of educating the high rank cadre about the physiology and the psychology. They were supposed to not only focus on taking the precaution and curing the disease, but also on the psychological health, the subhealth condition, the awareness of health, and the improvement of the high rank cadre's life quality, to upgrade the quality of the health quality for the high rank cadre. The diseases should be nipped the in the bud and battle effectiveness of the PLA should be kept at a best state.The study was carried out according to the theory of Social Medicine and the military epidemiology, combining with the character and the particularity of the cadre work and the task. The methods employed were documentary review, questionnaire survey, experts interview, discussion and the research on site. There were two parts in questionnaire survey: in the first part, the object of the survey was the above senior colonel cadre, which including 5 parts: 1, general information (including gender, age, education background, rank and duty, whether on duty);2, the requirement table of the form of health education;3, the requirement table of the content of health education;4 table for health behavior;5 the evaluation for the life quality (SF-36);In the second part, the object of the questionnaire survey was the military health educator (including general information, whether promoted on time , whether looking for another occupation, using of the funds specially for the project, etc.) During thesurvey, totally 1000 questionnaires had been handed out to the high rank cadre, while 903 were returned, in which 867 were valid, meaning that the ratio of the valid questionnaires reached 86.7%;50 questionnaires had been handed out to the health educator, and all returned, in which 48 were valid, reaching 96% effectiveness.The task concluded mainly the followings: 1, the health condition of the above senior colonel rank cadre had some new features: population ageing resulted in the new changing of the health condition. According to the statistics of the results, the diseases varied in the high rank cadres. And most of them had got the chronic and noncomminicable diseases. In addition, because of the faster rhythm of the life and the tense people relationship, people tent to get psychological diseases. Besides, in the healthy people, the subhealth condition existed commonly. 2. According to the survey, there was little awareness of health care in the high rank cadres' mind and their health care view was not scientific. 22.6% cadres hold that they need no health care. 3. Via the analysis of the current condition of the high rank cadres' life quality, we could find that the aspects which had significant influence on the quality of the cadres' life quality includes age, whether in service, education background;the older, the poor of the life quality;the health condition of the cadres who were in service was much better than the retired ones;better educated cadres possessed a better health. Therefore, lots of elements should be comprehensively considered to improve the life quality. 4. According to the analysis of three kinds of data, including the item formation rate of healthy behavior, the mean formation rate of healthy behavior, the influencing factors of healthy behavior's formation rate, we had found that the high rank cadre addict to some typical ill habits and behaviors, for example, taking only little exercise, which needed the health education of pertinency for their unhealthy habits;5 according to the analysis of the health education condition for the high cadre, some problems involving four aspects had been founded: inadequate importance had been attached to the problem, and inadequate funds had been spent on this area;people were chained to the conventional idea, and the form of health education was rigidifying;the content of the health education was inaccurate and not to the point;the health educators lacked training and were ignored;6 According to the analysis of the psychological health condition, the high rank cadres hold a poor psychological condition, and theyhad awareness of psychological health education;the small amount of psychological health education which had been carried out consider inadequately the receivers' education level;the form and the content of the health education were not very to the point;psychological health education was urgently needed.Based on the analysis of the theories above, the paper put forwards suggestions and solutions from four aspects: 1, To improve the health level, the high rank cadres were suggested to quit smoking and massive drinking. They were supposed to drop unhealthy habits and receive health education pertinently to form healthy life style. Massive drinking and unhealthy eating style should be strictly controlled and scientific dietetic habit should be formed. The high rank cadres were encouraged to take exercises to improve their health. 2, The psychological health education should also been focused on. Kinds of pressure relief activities should be organized to relieve their pressure;the high rank cadres should guided to build a harmonious family atmosphere and adjust personal relationship to improve the life quality from different aspects;3, During the health education for the high rank cadres, the health care idea should be strengthened and the departments responsible for the health education should be interactive to upgrade health concept and strengthen health care awareness;the subhealth condition should be kept eyes on. The relevant education should be taken in advance to nip in the buds. 4, As to the form and the content of the health education, only the health education net was build all over PLA, could improve the health education quality effectively. About this view point, the paper put forwards some constructive suggestions: first, to carry out the health education work, the leadership and cooperation should be strengthened;second, the content and form of the health education should be adjusted constantly, using the Army informational construction to improve the educational software and hardware;third, to face the new challenging under new situation, the fiill time and part time eligible educators should be trained.
