Objective Soybean phospholipids are the byproduct when making the edible bean oil. To explore the effects of soybean phospholipids supplementation on the histology of liver and the serum levels of liver function , enzyme and cell gene ,we made a study in rats of alcoholic liver disease. Methods 30 male SD rats and 30 female SD rats (the average weight was 200+/-10 g )were randomly divided into five groups(each group with 6 male rats and 6 female rats) according to their weight. The five groups were normal- group (NG), Positive group (PG), soybean phospholipids in low-dose group (L-SP), soybean phospholipids in middling dose group ( M-SP ) and soybean phospholipids in high dose group (H-SP) .Rats in group N were fed 0.9% NaCl twice one day continuously for 8 weeks via intragastric feeding;Rats in group P were fed 0.9% NaCl at 8 clock in the morning and alcohol at 2 clock in the afternoon.Rats in soybean phospholipids in different-dose groups were fed different doese soybean phospholipids(1.75g 3.5g and 7g/kg BW) at 8 clock in the morning and alcohol at 2 clock in the afternoon .The dose of alcohol was increased gradually from 3.2g/kg BW to 6.6g/kg BW in the first week ,then it was continuously for 7 weeks. At the end of the experiment, the fasting liver and blood samples were collected ,light microscopic observed the histology of liver with HE dying and analyzed including ALT, AST, TC, TG, SOD, MDA, GSH-Px, TNF- a . All date were expressed as means ±SD, and the analysis were performed withSPSS 10.0 for windows. Results1 Light microscopic observed the histology of liver with HE dying: the typical hepatic injury change of chronic alcoholism were observed in rats of pathology group. The injury of liver was alleviated in rats of different dose of soybean phospholipids .The rats of normal group showed the normal histology of liver. 2.The AST and ALT level in serum of pathology group were significantly increased compared with the normal group. The AST and ALT level of the groups of different dose of soybean phospholipids were decreased compared with the pathology group. There was no significant difference in serum AST and ALT level between the pathology group and the group of low dose of soybean phospholipids.3.The serum SOD of the pathology group was significant lower and the serum MDA was higher compared with the normal group. The serum SOD of the groups of different dose of soybean phospholipids were significant higher compared with the pathology group .There was no significant difference among the groups of different dose of soybean phospholipids. The serum MDA of the groups of different dose of soybean phospholipids were lower than that of the pathology group, especially in the group of high dose of soybean phospholipids. The serum GSH-Px of the pathology group was significant lower compared with the normal group. The serum GSH-Px of the groups of different dose of soybean phospholipids were significant higher compared with the pathology group . There was no significant difference in serum GSH-Px levelbetween the pathology group and the group of low dose of soybeanphospholipids.ln contrast ,there were significant difference in serum GSH-Pxlevel between the pathology group and the group of middle and high dose ofsoybean phospholipids. There was no significant difference between the groupsof middle and high dose of soybean phospholipids.4. The serum TNF- a of the pathology group was significant higher compared with thenormal group. The serum TNF- a of the groups of different dose of soybean phospholipidswere decreased compared with the pathology group. There was no significant differencebetween the groups of middle and high dose of soybean phospholipids.Conclusionl.Soybean phospholipids might protect the liver function in rats of alcoholic liverdisease.2.Soybean phospholipids might increase the antioxidant ability in rats ofalcoholic liver disease.3. Soybean phospholipids might restrain the secretion of TNF- a .
