Objective The purpose of our study is to provide a certain theoretical basis for the prevention and therapy of PCOS and its long - term complications., and to discuss the relation of PCOS with psychology. The dissertation includes two parts in this study.一, The diseases investigation of polycystic ovary syndrome familyPatients and Methods According to the female PCOS diagnostic criteria ,73 PCOSprobands with family history of PCOS were diagnosed which had been previously seen atinfertility clinics at the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University. The phenotypesof affected males presented with premature balding. Control group included 70 female infertilitypatients from same hospital and 73 healthy women whose the sexual distinctions, age, maritalstate and homeland were similar to PCOS probands. All the patients were under the samequestionnaire including EPQ and the same care of investigator by training. All the diseasesinvestigated had been diagnosed in their hospitals, All familial diseases, factors of personalityand possible induced causes had been investigated.Results The proportion of women with a positive family history of cardiovascular diseaseand NIDDM was significantly greater in women with PCOS compared with healthy women (P < 0.01, see table 2). There were also a significantly increased number of women with a positive family history of psychological disturbances and all psychosomatic disease in women with PCOS compared with control groups.IH> Analysis on possible induced causes and personality of PCOS Patients and Methods See part 1Results The results showed that there were a significantly increased number of the nervousness in women with PCOS and a significantly increased rate of disbute between parents in women with PCOS. There was a significantly increased number of the nervousness in probands who had induced causes compared with probands without causes.Conclusion1. We ronfirmed that there were a positive association between PCOS and their family history of cardiovascular disease and NIDDM.2. Psychological disturbances and all psychosomatic disease had been found increased in PCOS family , therefore , PCOS can be explained to be the interaction of inheritance , environment and nutrition . Environmental factors may include social and family events which influenced mental. We should take this condition into consideration , so that we could predict and prevent these diseases.3. PCOS probands have personality disorder. This may be influenced by the environment of family and society or PCOS itself. This personality disorder, their society and family environment may be the reasons of PCOS and its long - term complications. It may be necessary to prevent and cure PCOS with psychology as medicine.
