Clinical Study On Du-Moxibustion In Treating Ankylosing Spondylitis By Regulating The Level Of Nitric Oxide In Serum

Objective:To observe the level of nitric oxide(NO) in serum by treating Ankylosing Spondylitis with Du-moxibustion.To detect the relationship between nitric oxide and Ankylosing Spondylitis and discuss the mechanism there might be.Methods:39 patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis were selected and treated with Du-moxibustion as the test group,and 40 healthy volunteers served as control.Results:There was significant difference of nitric oxide concentration in serum between the test group and the control before Du-moxibustion,while after Du-moxibustion there was no difference between them. Du-moxibustion can improve clinical symptoms,main physical sign and laborary marker of patients obviously.The total effective rate of Du-moxibustion group was 92.3 % Conclusion:NO play a very important inflammatory mediator in Ankylosing Spondylitis. Du-Moxibustion can regulate the level of NO in serum , adjust free radicals homeostasis, control inflammation, suppress the condition progress.
