The History Using And Clinical Investigation Of Membranous Milk Vetch In Apoplexia

This dissertation, under direction from my tutor, is completed by collecting and analyzing the history, status, and clinical investigation of the cases concerning treating apoplexia with membranous milk vetch. The entire dissertation is comprised of six parts.(1)Theoretical foundations. Through collecting diversified study achievements on noxa of apoplexia in history, the dissertation summarizes the different opinions on the noxa of apoplexia that were put forward before the Tang and Song dynasties and after the Jin and Yuan dynasties. Through this way, the dissertation verifies that in the history of traditional Chinese medicine, there were two development periods when membranous milk vetch was used to treat apoplexia.(2)Medical nature and functions of membranous milk vetch. Through summarizing the medical functions recorded in the ancient medical books, this dissertation confirms the special medical functions of membranous milk vetch on treating apoplexia.(3) Pharmacologic studies on membranous milk vetch. Through pharmacologic studies on membranous milk vetch, this dissertation confirms that membranous milk vetch has the medical functions of reducing blood pressure and blood sugar, providing foundation for its medical function on treating apoplexia.(4) Clinical investigation.
