Objective: Mukdenia rossii koidz is an natural Chinese herbalmedicine which is distributed at Changbaishan.It is reported thatthe roots of Mukdenia rossii koidz have many effective elementscounting for medical treatment .These effective elements areflavonoids.It have been confirmed that flavonoids have many medicalactivity such as antioxidation,reducing serum lipide and antiin-flamation.Throught pharmacological search people has found thatthe flavonoids of Mukdenia rossii koidz can desease lipidemetabolic products (LPO)of heart failure rats and increase theability of superoxide dismutase (SOD).This is the result thatflavonoids cleaning OFR .It also has been proved that flavonoid ofMukdenia rossii koidz can improve the contraction ability ofcardiac muscle and ameliorating coronary circulation.This experiment is to observe effect of Mukdenia rossii koidzon TC,LDL-c metablism and antioxidati on in experimentalhyperlipemia rats.Methods: On the basis of establishing hyperlipemia ratsmodel,sixty rats were randomly divided into six groups,normalcontrol group was fed by nomal forages and ig physiological saline10ml/kg; Hyperlipemia control group was fed by hyperlipemia foragesand ig physiological saline 10ml/kg;Positive control group was fedby hyperlipemia forages and ig Simvastatin 10ml/kg; Mukdeniarossii koidz low, middle and high groups was fed by hyperlipemiaforages and ig separately Mukdenia rossii koidz 500, 1000, 2000mg/kg. Every group was ig drugs once time at 9:00~10:00 am. in20days.The rats were treated by starvation and no water-deprivationin the night before the day being given Mukdenia rossii koidz.Nextday they were applied by 3% pentobarbital sodium 30mg/kg ipanesthesia and 3ml of blood sample were got.Total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholestrol and lipid peroxidation(LPO)contents, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were measured.At the same time, fat accumulation in liver were observed. Results: The MDA contents of hyperlipemia control group inserum and liver were higher and the SOD activity in serum andliver were decreased than nomal control group significantly. Itshowed that hyperlipemia can damage lipid by OFR..Mukdenia rossiikoidz can increase the SOD activity and desease MDA contentespecially at 2000 kg-1dosage .In addition it appeared that the bloodlipid of hyperlipemia control group were higher obviously thannomal control group.It showed that hyperlipemia model rats wereestablished successfully. Rusults from blood lipid showed that blood lipid were deseaseby Mukdenia rossii koidz but it didn't appear statisticalsignificance.
