With a long history, Chinese traditional medicine plays an important role in the fields of medicine not only in China but also in all over the world. With the development of science and technology, the way to modernization research of Chinese traditional medicine is becoming more and more crucial. Furthermore, among all kinds of methods, fluorescence spectrum is an extensively used technology in study on the interaction between small organic molecules especially drugs and serum albumin. Moreover the applications of three-dimensional fluorescence spectrum will show great prospects. In this thesis, we studied the fluorescence spectrum of three Chinese traditional herds including Radix Angelicae Pubescentis (RAP), Radix Isatidis (RI) and Rhizoma Anemarrhenae (RA). Based on the fluorescence properties of these drugs, the interaction between drugs and serum albumin is investigated respectively. The main contents in this paper include:1. Fluorescence properties of RAP were studied. The results show that there are two different fluorescent constitutes in RAP alkaline solutions. The interaction between RAP and bovine serum albumin (BSA), human serum albumin (HSA) was studied. Energy transfer between BSA and RAP was observed in fluorescence spectrum, and combination of BSA with RAP was demonstrated in UV absorption spectrum. The effects of several experimental conditions on the interaction were investigated.2. Fluorescence spectrum of RI was studied. The interaction between RI and BSA was studied. Energy transfer between BSA and RI was observed in fluorescence spectrum, and combination of BSA with RI was demonstrated in UV absorption spectrum. The interaction between RI and HSA was investigated, too.3. Fluorescence spectrum and absorption spectrum of RA were studied. More than one fluorescent constitute in RA solutions were observed. Based on the results the interaction between RA and BSA was investigated.
