For the purpose of raising the curative rate of severe prolapsed hemorrhoids and preserving the anal function, a new operation for 3rd -or 4th-stage prolapsed hemorrhoids was designed in which an anal pad was retained with rectal mucosa suspended and a linear exo-incision. During the operation, rectal mucosa was demixed and crisscrossed, and ligatured dottedly, thus the distances of the longitudinal and transverse mucosas shorted, the prolapsed hemorrhoids returning to their original positions, attached to the muscles and fixed there, ami reposition of the analpad resulted, so that all the symptoms caused by prolapsed hemorrhoids were relieved and the anal pad was preserved. The linear incision was used to reduce the lesion of the healthy skin to the largest degree in the treatment of the external hemorrhoids, to shorten the healing duration and to avoid the postoperative complications. Clinically, this operation was performed on 20 cases(the treatment group), compared with the 20 cases subjected to conventional external resection and internal ligation(the controlling Group I ) and with the 15 cases subjected to the most commonly—seen PPH operation ( the controlling Group Ⅱ). The comparative research was dong on the curative rate, healing duration, postoperative complications, recurrence rate and sequels. The results showed that there was a great difference in the curative rate, healing duration, postoperative complications and sequels between the treatment group and the...
